How often do you get the chance to help build a brand-new diagnostic service...without starting from scratch?
That's exactly what's on offer here.
Our client has already established one of the region's most respected paediatric multidisciplinary therapy services. Families already trust them, referrals are already flowing, and the wider team is firmly in place.
Now they're launching a dedicated Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Service and they're looking for the right Clinical Psychologist to help shape it from day one.
You'll have the rare opportunity to influence pathways, assessment processes and service development whilst being surrounded by an experienced MDT that already works exceptionally well together.
It's the best of both worlds: the excitement of building something new with the security, reputation and support of an established organisation.
If you enjoy collaborative working, high clinical standards and making a genuine difference to children and families, this is a role you'll want to explore.
We're looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments and working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
You'll ideally have:
- HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist
- Experience working within Autism and/or ADHD diagnostic pathways
- Experience using ADOS-2, ADI-R and other recognised diagnostic tools
- Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD
- Experience completing neurodevelopmental assessments and contributing to diagnostic decisions
- Excellent report writing and formulation skills
- Experience within CAMHS, community paediatrics or neurodevelopmental services
- Excellent communication skills with children, families and professionals
- Passion for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Applications from highly experienced clinicians requiring UK visa sponsorship will be considered.
You'll play a central role within the new Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Service, including:
- Completing developmental and psychological assessments
- Conducting ADI-R assessments (many completed remotely from home)
- Contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions
- Using ADOS-2 and other recognised assessment tools
- Producing clear, high-quality diagnostic reports
- Providing recommendations and feedback to children, families and professionals
- Working closely with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other clinicians
- Helping develop and refine the new diagnostic pathway
- Supporting clinical quality and service development as the team grows
This is a varied role where your expertise will directly influence both individual families and the future direction of the service.
This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with consultancy arrangements also considered.
The role is centred around the purpose-built Mildenhall clinic, although much of the ADI-R assessment work can be completed remotely, giving you an excellent balance between clinic-based and home working.
The service launches in September, although earlier starts are welcomed to support pathway development, training and service preparation.
This isn't simply another Clinical Psychology role.
It's the opportunity to become one of the founding clinicians within a growing diagnostic service backed by an established and highly respected paediatric organisation.
You'll benefit from regular supervision, collaborative MDT working and ongoing professional development whilst helping shape a service that will support children and families for years to come.
Whether your ambitions involve further developing your neurodevelopmental expertise, contributing to service design or becoming a recognised leader within Autism and ADHD diagnostics, you'll have the support, autonomy and clinical environment to make it happen.
If you're excited by the opportunity to help build an outstanding Autism & ADHD Diagnostic Service whilst working within an exceptional paediatric MDT, we'd love to hear from you.
