Save With Solar is a growing renewable energy company specialising in residential solar PV, battery storage, and energy-saving solutions across the UK. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Nominated Technical Person (NTP) to oversee technical compliance, installation standards, and quality assurance as we continue to expand.
The Role
As the Nominated Technical Person, you will be responsible for ensuring all solar PV and battery installations meet current MCS standards, industry regulations, and best practices. You will play a key role in maintaining technical compliance and supporting our installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the company's Nominated Technical Person for MCS certification.
- Review and approve system designs and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with MCS standards, MIS 3002 requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Provide technical support to sales, survey, and installation teams.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and installation audits.
- Oversee commissioning procedures and handover documentation.
- Keep the business updated on changes to industry standards and regulations.
- Support training and development of installation personnel.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience within the Solar PV industry.
- Strong understanding of MCS requirements and renewable energy compliance.
- Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Experience with G98/G99 applications and DNO processes.
- Experience reviewing solar PV and battery storage designs.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.
Desirable Qualifications
One or more of the following:
- Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar PV Systems.
- Level 3 Award in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
