We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to join our team at Towy Castle Care Home.
This role is specifically suited to someone with a strong background in adult health and social care who understands what it takes to support a care team, maintain high standards and provide excellent person-centred care.
You may already be working as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, Senior Care Assistant, Care Coordinator or in another supervisory role within adult social care and be ready for your next step.
Towy Castle provides residential and dementia care in beautiful surroundings overlooking the Towy Estuary. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager and play an important part in the day-to-day leadership and development of the home.
The Role
As Deputy Care Home Manager, you’ll be visible and involved in the day-to-day running of the service supporting colleagues, residents and families while helping ensure the home operates safely, effectively and to a consistently high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home
- Leading, supporting and developing the care team
- Providing guidance to senior carers and care staff
- Acting as Manager in the Registered Manager’s absence
- Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and medication processes
- Maintaining high standards of residential and dementia care
- Supporting safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Supporting audits, compliance and continuous improvement
- Working with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies
- Helping ensure the service meets relevant CIW requirements and standards
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working within adult health or social care is essential for this position.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience supporting older adults and who already understand the responsibilities and standards involved in delivering high-quality care.
You’ll also need:
- NVQ/QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience within adult social care
- A good understanding of person-centred care
- Experience supporting and developing care teams
- Knowledge of care planning, risk assessments, safeguarding and medication processes
- Confidence dealing with day-to-day operational challenges
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A professional, approachable and supportive leadership style
Previous experience in a residential or dementia care home and knowledge of CIW requirements would be particularly advantageous.

Location & Travel
Towy Castle Care Home is located near Carmarthen and is within travelling distance of Llanelli, Llandeilo, Ammanford, Cross Hands, Kidwelly, St Clears, Whitland and surrounding areas.
Please be aware that Towy Castle is in a rural location with limited public transport, so you must be able to travel reliably to and from the home.
