About the Role
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team at Origin City, working approximately 30 hours per week. This is a hands-on role for someone who is reliable, organised and happy to support the team in a busy kitchen environment.
You will help keep the kitchen clean, safe and well organised by washing dishes and kitchen equipment, maintaining cleaning standards, managing waste correctly and making sure chefs have the equipment they need during preparation and service.
You will work closely with the chefs and wider restaurant team, so good communication, teamwork and a positive attitude are important. Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
About You
- You are someone who genuinely loves food, cooking and hospitality, and wants to grow within the industry.
- You have experience in a professional kitchen and understand the importance of mise en place, timing, communication, teamwork, cleanliness, consistency and presentation.
- You have a strong interest in quality ingredients, food provenance, butchery, seafood, recipes, preparation methods, food safety, allergens and kitchen craft, or a clear willingness to develop this knowledge through training.
- You are confident following recipes and senior chef instructions, working with focus under pressure and supporting colleagues.
Pay and Benefits
- £13 per hour, plus service charge. Typical total earnings are approximately £15 to £16 per hour, depending on service charge levels.
