Origin Vets Clinic is an independent veterinary practice located in Cardiff. We're dedicated to providing the highest level of care for cats, rabbits and exotic pets (no dogs). We are RWAF Gold for Rabbits and ICC Gold for Cats.
About the role
We’re a small but mighty team (currently made up of 1.5 vets, 2.5 nurses, an Animal Care Assistant, a Receptionist and a Practice Manager) is looking for an RVN to join us on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday (we're currently not open weekends or bank holidays).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make full use of their nursing skills while providing gold-standard, welfare-focused care across a diverse range of species.
Our nurses are fully utilised across all aspects of the practice. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of nursing responsibilities and regularly perform Schedule 3 procedures, so you certainly won’t be bored!
Your Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nursing care across a range of species.
- Perform a variety of nursing clinics, including nurse led euthanasia and K-laser therapy.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, including a range of lab tests.
- Monitor anaesthesia and support patients throughout surgical procedures.
- Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness and husbandry standards across the practice.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a consistently high standard of service.
About You
We’re looking for a calm, kind and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). Our ideal team member would have experience working with rabbits and exotics species already but it's much more important that you're pro-active and willing to give things a go - we're happy to support you.
Essential requirements:
- Fully qualified and registered with the RCVS as an RVN.
- Has the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (or lives very local to the practice).
- Has excellent communication skills and enjoys building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Has an interest in, or experience with, exotic species and is keen to develop their exotic nursing skills.
- Is calm, kind, and genuinely cares about doing the best for every patient.
