SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Southampton

The Role
As a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
- Support academic progress, emotional wellbeing, communication, and independence.
- Help implement personalised learning plans and support strategies.
- Build a trusting relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and engagement.
- Support classroom activities and work alongside the class teacher and SEN team.
- Assist with emotional regulation, social development, and positive behaviour strategies.
- Encourage pupils to access learning and participate fully in school life.
We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, or SEMH needs (desirable).
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to provide individualised support in a classroom setting.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their goals.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
