Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial planning throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects in collaboration with project managers and clients.
- Monitor project costs continuously, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used against estimates.
- Manage tendering processes, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects for audit purposes.
- Analyse variations from the original scope of work and recommend appropriate adjustments or claims.
- Collaborate with project teams to optimise resource allocation and minimise unnecessary expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices in cost control procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes.
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

Pay: £33,504.59-£74,240.34 per year
