Clerical Administrator
We are a small specialist company who run the membership and livestock databases for a number of pedigree breed societies of sheep, cattle, alpacas and pigs. We are looking for a full time person to help with data entry and general secretarial duties. Working hours and days can be flexible.
The job is predominantly clerical, but quite varied in that each breed has its own ‘variation on a theme’.
The successful applicant will be, efficient, accurate, have an excellent telephone manner and be patient and polite with our customers. Familiarity with MSWord and MSExcel is essential, and with Xero would be an advantage. We will provide full training on our own pedigree software, but proven expertise in data handling would be an advantage.
Main Areas of responsibility :
- Process online applications for births, pedigree registration and change of ownership using our in house Grassroots software
- Deal with general correspondence, postal, telephone and email enquiries
- Reconcile payments in Xero, raise receipts and / or invoices
- Ensure that the correct certificates, invoices / receipts and covering letters are dispatched in a timely fashion
- Deal with DNA samples for parentage verification
- Provide telephone support to customers
- Assist with bulk mailings, filing, and all other general office duties
- Some book-keeping duties
This is a small friendly team of eight people in the Devon office who work closely together, so we need a team player.

The office is closed for Christmas week.
Full time 37.5 hours per week, but could be flexible and would consider part-time
