Due to continued growth and development, Pop Up Day Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic, confident and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our Wellingborough team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently working as a Deputy Nursery Manager or Third in Charge who is ready to take the next step and make a genuine impact on the development of our nursery.
We are ideally looking for someone with a Level 5 qualification in Early Years. However, we are also happy to consider exceptional Level 3 practitioners who can demonstrate an outstanding leadership track record, strong management skills and the ambition to progress into senior leadership.
The role is available on either a term-time only or all-year-round contract, depending on the successful candidate's circumstances.
What We're Looking For
- Ideally a Level 5 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
- We will also consider Level 3 qualified candidates with an exceptional leadership and management record.
- Proven experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Third in Charge or senior practitioner within an early years setting.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and nursery regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and support a team.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and education.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to make decisions and drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team to maintain consistently high standards.
- Ensure the nursery remains compliant with EYFS, safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
- Support curriculum planning and ensure high-quality teaching and learning opportunities for all children.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing clear communication and support.
- Assist with staff supervision, mentoring and performance development.
- Support occupancy and admissions processes.
- Complete funding applications and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Assist with invoicing, payment collection and debt management where required.
- Work alongside the management team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the nursery.
