We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team in Kendal. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently. Job Purpose
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will carry out warehouse and goods handling activities that support the efficient operation of our import and distribution business, ensuring products are received, processed and dispatched accurately while maintaining excellent standards of quality, safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
· Load and unload supplier deliveries safely and efficiently.
· Unpack, inspect and check incoming deliveries against delivery documentation.
· Label and store stock accurately within the warehouse.
· Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
· Use warehouse computer systems to process outgoing goods.
· Produce shipping documentation, labels and any other paperwork required for customer orders and shipments.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily operational targets.
· Follow company procedures and health and safety guidelines at all times.
· Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager.
Skills and Experience
· Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment is desired but not essential to apply.
· Able to undertake the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, carrying, manual handling, and being on your feet for extended periods, in accordance with safe working practices.
· Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Basic computer skills with the ability to learn warehouse systems.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
· Good communication skills.
