As part of our continued growth, we are looking for reliable and motivated Packing Centre Operatives to join our Packing Centre team. This role is essential in ensuring eggs are packed accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining the highest standards of product quality, food safety and hygiene.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure the accurate, efficient and timely packing of eggs and their preparation for storage and dispatch in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, food safety requirements and customer specifications, while contributing to the achievement of daily production targets and the efficient operation of the Packing Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack eggs accurately in accordance with production schedules, customer specifications and company procedures.
- Inspect eggs for cracks, dirt, leaks and other defects before packing.
- Remove damaged or non-conforming eggs from the packing process.
- Ensure products are correctly labelled and date coded.
- Prepare packaging materials and workstations for production.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the packing process.
- Prepare finished products for storage and dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic working environment.
- Report equipment faults, product quality issues and other non-conformities promptly.
- Work effectively as part of the Packing Centre team to achieve daily production targets.
- Comply with all Food Safety, Health & Safety, Hygiene and Biosecurity requirements.
- Participate in mandatory training and follow company procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in food production, manufacturing or packing is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within an egg packing facility would be an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to identify product defects.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude.
- Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual work while standing for extended periods.
- Basic English language skills sufficient to understand work instructions and communicate with colleagues.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
