Job purpose: To work on site and to visit key supplier’s premises for audit purposes to ensure that all products and processes meet the company’s quality standards through inspection of received goods, work in progress and finished goods & materials. Also maintains documentation and record keeping relating to certification packs, non-conformity reporting and investigation findings as part of continual improvement and ISO accredited management systems.
Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)
- Verifies mechanical, machining and weld materials based upon FET drawings and test specifications.
- Inspection of fabricated and machined components to engineering drawings both on and off site.
- Support annual audit activities for ISO 9001 (& other) management system maintenance
- Support Engineering change control via NCRs to inform ECNs as applicable
- Perform mechanical inspections for components and completed assemblies, paint shop inspections, visual inspections, thickness measurements and weld shop inspections.
- Assist with the company’s supplier management Quality processes.
- Complete all necessary documentation according to the company’s requirements, (including timesheets, NCRs, ECN, Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) ... etc.)
- Prepare certification packages as required / Assist with the construction of certification packs for ROV records.
- Deliver Non conformance register for each project build / unit
- Maintain standardisation of NCR process:
- Monitor corrective and preventative actions to:
- Ensure adequate and timely closure.
- Make recommendations to management for process improvements.
- Providing ad-hoc advice and support to the business on unplanned, immediate needs basis
- Other duties as assigned by the QHS&E manager.
Accountabilities: (Deliverables)
- Perform dimensional reporting and code and standards interpretation.
- Perform inspections.
- Prepare material certification, calibrations, welding procedures, test reports, route card, etc.
- Prepare certification packages as required.
Education/Qualifications (essential):
Education/Qualifications:
- Batchelor’s Engineering
- ISO or equivalent Internal Auditor
- Secondary education preferred
Technical Competencies (essential):
- ISO 9001, implementation and monitoring experience
- Working awareness in turn-key engineered products / manufacturing
- Able to read technical drawings
- Familiarity with typical project quality requirements (ITPs, QP, etc)
Technical Competencies (desirable):
- ISO14001, and 45001 implementation and monitoring experience
- Lean manufacturing, TQM and continuous improvement tools such as PDCA, DMAIC, six sigma, 5S.
Key Skills (essential):
- Problem solving & root cause analysis
- Computer literate (MS Office suite: Word, Access, Power Point and Excel)
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
- An ability to understand drawings in line with basic quality control decisions (CTQ’s).
- Good communication skills, learning ability and proactive personality with customer satisfaction orientation.
- Be able to work under changing circumstances well, at times, under time pressures.
- Ability to co-operate and work well with others.
- Full driving licence
Key Skills (desirable):
- Experience in lean six sigma in manufacturing (focus on Lean)
Experience (essential):
- 3-5 years’ experience in quality control activities within a product and project based engineering / component environment.
- Previous experience of using measuring equipment. (vernier callipers, micrometres etc.)
QHSE Competencies:
- Maintain behaviour in compliance with Forum HSE requirements.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.
- Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
