NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedic Outpatients team. Working alongside Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey. Key responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, person-centred care to patients attending Orthopaedic Outpatients

Support Registered Nurses by carrying out a range of delegated clinical and patient care tasks

Monitor and report changes in patients' physical or psychological wellbeing to the nursing team
-
Perform a range of clinical duties including observations, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis and wound care activities
-
Communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team

Maintain accurate records and adhere to NHSGGC policies, procedures and confidentiality standards
-
Assist with equipment checks, stock control and maintaining a safe, clean clinical environment
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- SVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience, training and development

Experience of working in a healthcare or patient care environment

Understanding of Healthcare Support Worker standards and professional codes of conduct

Knowledge of infection prevention, health and safety and person-centred care principles

Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships

Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records

A caring, compassionate approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
