We are excited to announce that we are recruiting to Benefits Officers to join our Countywide Benefits Team. This dynamic team focuses on maximising income and providing essential support to Nottinghamshire residents. As a Benefits Officer, you will play a vital role in helping individuals understand their entitlements and navigate the benefits system.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing specialist benefits advice primarily through phone consultations.

Assisting clients in understanding their entitlements and completing better-off calculations.

Supporting appeals and delivering training to staff and partner organisations.

Working closely with the wider department, including Adult Care Financial Services

Attending events and building strong networks with partners to enhance service delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will need:

Proven experience in providing specialist benefits advice.

Up-to-date and expert knowledge of the benefits system.

Knowledge of Adult Social Care and Health and an understanding of Financial Assessments for care charges

Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in IT applications.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel.
