Chef – Diplomatic / Ambassadorial Residence
We are recruiting a role to work directly in a prestigious Ambassadorial Residence in Central London as Chef (working as part of a team of 3 Chefs)
The Chef is responsible for the overall culinary provision within a private diplomatic residence, ensuring exceptional standards for both private dining and official engagements.
The role combines hands-on delivery with strategic oversight, leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
· Culinary leadership
· Lead and manage all aspects of kitchen operations within the residence
· Set and maintain standards for quality, presentation and service
· Oversee all food preparation for daily meals and formal events
· Stakeholder engagement
· Work closely with the principal and residence leadership to design menus and dining experiences
· Ensure food offering reflects the nature and purpose of diplomatic and social engagements
· Maintain discretion and professionalism at all times
· Lead the planning and delivery of formal dinners, receptions and high-profile events
· Ensure consistency and excellence across varying scales of hospitality
· Coordinate with wider household or event teams where required
· Operational ownership
· Manage procurement, suppliers and food budgets
· Oversee stock control, cost management and purchasing strategy
· Ensure full compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards
· Team leadership
· Manage, develop and support the Sous Chef and any additional kitchen staff
· Plan resource requirements for events and periods of peak demand
· Ensure continuity of service across all operational scenarios
Role profile
· Executive Chef with experience in private households, luxury hospitality or comparable environments
· Demonstrated experience managing high standards in both daily service and event settings
· Strong organisational, leadership and communication capability
· High levels of discretion, professionalism and adaptability
Salary and Benefits in line with a Central London, Ambassadorial Residence role. This is a live-out role and the role will work on a 45 hour week with a Mon-Sun working pattern.
Pay: £76,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
