Job Description:
You will oversee the planning and coordination of supply chain activities supporting the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) warship maintenance programme. Working across project, engineering, operations, commercial, customer, and supplier teams, you will ensure material and service requirements are understood, planned, and delivered to support programme schedules, performance, and customer outcomes. You will monitor supply chain risks, performance, and delivery activities, providing strategic oversight throughout the programme lifecycle.
Core duties:
- Oversee supply chain planning and coordination activities across the QEC programme, ensuring materials and services are available to support maintenance and delivery requirements
- Coordinate supply chain inputs throughout the project lifecycle, including programme planning, governance activities, risk mitigation, reviews, and delivery milestones
- Act as the primary supply chain interface for project teams, customers, suppliers, and functional stakeholders, ensuring requirements, priorities, and issues are effectively maintained
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, dependencies, and constraints, developing mitigation plans to support schedule, cost, quality, and operational performance targets
- Monitor and report on supply chain performance, budgets, and delivery activities whilst driving continuous improvement and the implementation of supply chain strategies and best practice
Essential Skills:
- Experience within both Supply Chain/Procurement and Project Management environments, with responsibility for planning, coordinating, or delivering supply chain activities that support multi-faceted engineering, maintenance, or operational programmes
- Understanding of supply chain planning, risk mitigation, and performance reporting within a project or programme environment
- Commercial and contractual awareness, with experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery
- Experience overseeing or coordinating activities across multiple disciplines, balancing priorities, handling dependencies, gathering inputs, and driving outcomes
- Experience supporting major, integrated programmes, delivering supply chain activities that contribute to cost, schedule, quality, and customer outcomes
The Ship Repair Supply Chain Team:
The Warship Support Supply Chain team supports the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) programme and wider warship maintenance activities. The team drives effective operational delivery, supports strategic business plans, and provides governance across material supply processes while working closely with stakeholders across the business.
