We are currently looking for a Yard Operative at our Luton depot.
Responsibilities include:
- Safe Loading and Unloading of Lorries
- Ensuring paperwork is completed for deliveries – check machinery and goods received for quantity and any damage, record photographs of machinery arriving, sign delivery notes and process delivery by receiving machinery onto the system (IBCOS)
- Assisting with machinery leaving the yard - keeping photo log of machinery that is collected to show condition when leaves the yard and completing relevant paperwork
- Maintenance of Yard machines
- Keeping the yard clean, clear and operational
- Routine cleaning of yard and facilities
- Displaying new and Used machines for sale
- Monitoring and re-ordering of fuels
- Labelling up and storage of control boxes and user manuals
- Collection and sorting of Recyclable waste
- Assisting workshop with delivering out parts to Engineers
- Work in a safe manner in respect of yourself and others and adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
Key skills
- Experience with working in a yard environment
- Work well under pressure and retain a positive attitude
- Full driving licence is essential
- Forklift licence would be beneficial
- Experience with driving Agricultural Machinery or Plant
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- IT literate
- Excellent attention to detail
This a varied and diverse job therefore one that requires self-motivation, self-discipline, and a willingness to work within our existing team to the long-term benefit of the business. You will need to work closely with all departments and to be flexible enough to operate outside of job description and standard hours when required. You will also have to be prepared to work in all weathers.

- Salary - £29,200 - £35,000 per annum OTE based on experience, paid on an hourly rate.
- Holiday entitlement – 24 days per year plus bank holidays

- Monday - Friday - 7.30am- 5.30pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
