We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Activities Lead to join our dedicated team at Baylham Care Centre, located in the beautiful Suffolk countryside between Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and close to Stowmarket.
As our Activities Lead, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents by planning and delivering engaging, meaningful, and person-centred activities that reflect their interests, abilities, and life experiences.
About the Role
You will be responsible for creating a varied programme of activities that promotes physical, emotional, social, and cognitive wellbeing. Working closely with residents, their families, and the wider care team, you'll ensure every individual has opportunities to participate in activities that bring enjoyment, purpose, and companionship.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver a diverse programme of individual and group activities.
- Encourage residents to participate while respecting personal choice and independence.
- Organise themed events, celebrations, entertainers, and community visits.
- Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, volunteers, and local community groups.
- Support residents living with dementia by providing meaningful, engaging activities tailored to their individual needs.
- Maintain activity records and contribute to residents' care plans where appropriate.
- Work within the home's policies to ensure activities are delivered safely and inclusively.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a warm, caring, and enthusiastic personality.
- Is creative, organised, and full of ideas.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys working with people, including those living with dementia.
- Can motivate and encourage participation in a fun and inclusive way.
- Has previous experience in an activities role, care environment, or similar setting (desirable but not essential).
- Full clean driving licence
