Part-Time Marketing Manager2–3 days per week | Freelance to start | Flexible working
Charity Fleetcare is a specialist vehicle leasing and fleet management business working exclusively in the charity sector. We understand the unique challenges charities face and have built a strong proposition around helping organisations run safer, more cost-effective and fully managed vehicle fleets.
We are now looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Part-Time Marketing Manager to take ownership of our marketing activity and help us build a scalable lead-generation engine.
This is a key hire. You will have significant autonomy and will be expected to take ownership, make things happen and see your work directly translate into leads, opportunities and revenue.
The Role
We are looking for someone with 3–5 years' B2B marketing experience, ideally someone who has worked in a small or lean business where you have had to be both strategic and hands-on.
You won't be managing a large marketing department or simply briefing agencies. You will be responsible for getting the work done.
You will own our website, SEO, email marketing and lead database, while working alongside the Managing Director, existing freelancers and partners to deliver campaigns and generate new business.
The role is 2–3 days per week and freelance to start, with the potential to develop as the business grows.
What You'll OwnWebsite & WordPress
You will take full ownership of the Charity Fleetcare website.
This includes:
- Updating and improving existing pages
- Creating new sector-specific landing pages
- Keeping website content fresh and relevant
- Improving conversion rates and calls to action
- Testing new ideas and messaging
- Making routine changes yourself in WordPress
You must be confident working in WordPress without needing a developer or agency for everyday updates.
SEO
You will build and execute a straightforward SEO programme focused on the search terms our potential customers are actually using.
This will include:
- Keyword research
- On-page optimisation
- Content opportunities
- Basic technical SEO
- Basic link-building activity
- Monitoring search performance
- Identifying opportunities to increase organic leads
Our objective is simple: when charity operations, fleet or finance professionals are looking for fleet solutions, we want Charity Fleetcare to be found.
Email Marketing
You will own our outbound and inbound email marketing programme.
We have a target database of approximately 38,000 segmented organisations and a Brevo CRM setup that is being developed.
You will:
- Plan campaigns by sector and audience
- Write or review email copy
- Brief our email operations freelancer
- Manage email sequences and automation
- Monitor campaign performance
- Test different messaging and approaches
- Track leads generated from email
- Continuously improve campaign performance
You will be accountable not simply for sending emails, but for the leads and opportunities those campaigns generate.
Lead Generation & Database Management
You will take ownership of our contact database and lead-generation process.
This means:
- Keeping the database clean and properly segmented
- Ensuring prospects are systematically worked
- Tracking leads through the pipeline
- Identifying gaps or opportunities
- Making sure leads don't fall through the cracks
- Reporting on what is converting
- Using data to improve future campaigns
We want someone who thinks beyond marketing activity and asks:
"Is this generating opportunities for the business?"
Freelancer Management
You will manage our existing email operations freelancer, providing:
- Clear campaign briefs
- Copy and messaging direction
- Deadlines and priorities
- Feedback and quality control
- Ongoing performance management
You will also help coordinate other freelancers or external specialists where required.
Partnerships & Webinars
You will support the Managing Director with the execution of partnership marketing activity, including:
- Co-marketing campaigns
- Partner communications
- Webinar logistics
- Webinar promotion
- Follow-up campaigns
- Turning partnership activity into measurable leads
What We're Looking ForEssential
- 3–5 years' B2B marketing experience
- Experience working in a small, lean or entrepreneurial business environment
- Strong WordPress skills – able to confidently build and edit pages without developer support
- Strong email marketing experience using Brevo, Mailchimp or an equivalent platform
- Experience with email automation and sequencing
- Practical SEO knowledge, including keyword research and on-page optimisation
- Strong copywriting skills across web, email and short-form content
- Genuine fluency with AI tools for research, content creation, SEO, campaign planning and marketing execution
- Highly self-directed and organised
- Commercially minded and focused on leads, pipeline and revenue
- Comfortable taking a brief and running with it without constant supervision
Desirable
- Experience marketing to charities, social care or the wider third sector
- Experience with Apollo.io or similar B2B prospecting platforms
- Experience managing freelancers or small external teams
- Understanding of CRM and pipeline management
- Experience coordinating webinars or online events
AI Is Part of the Job
We are looking for someone who genuinely uses AI as part of their normal marketing workflow.
You should be comfortable using AI to help with:
- Market and competitor research
- Content creation
- SEO research
- Keyword development
- Email campaigns
- Campaign planning
- Data analysis
- Testing ideas and messaging
- Improving productivity
We are not looking for someone who occasionally uses ChatGPT to write an email. We want someone who understands how AI can make a modern B2B marketing operation faster, smarter and more effective.
Who This Role Is NOT For
This role will suit someone who likes doing, not just managing.
It is not a traditional marketing manager role where you spend your time managing agencies and briefing other people to complete the work.
If you are looking for a role where you can delegate everything and work at arm's length from execution, this probably isn't the right fit.
We need someone who will see an opportunity, make a plan, get stuck in and measure the result.
Charity sector experience is useful, but commercial pace and a results-driven mindset are more important to us.
The Opportunity
Charity Fleetcare has a strong product, a clearly defined market and approximately 38,000 target organisations that could potentially benefit from what we offer.
We are building the marketing infrastructure now, including segmented contact lists, Brevo CRM and Apollo prospecting.
This means you are joining at an exciting point in the business.
You will have the opportunity to build a lead-generation engine from the ground up, rather than inherit a large, established marketing machine.
The right person will have:
- Genuine autonomy
- A clear commercial focus
- The opportunity to shape our marketing approach
- Direct access to the Managing Director
- The ability to see their work turn into real opportunities and revenue
- The opportunity for the role to grow alongside the business
Hours & Working Arrangements
Part-time: 2–3 days per week salary Pro rata
Freelance to start
We are open to discussing the exact working pattern with the right person.
The role is not location-dependent, although occasional in-person meetings may be required.
How to Apply
Please send us your CV along with a short explanation of why you think you would be a good fit for this role.
We would particularly like to hear about:
- A B2B marketing campaign you have personally delivered
- How you have generated measurable leads
- Your experience with WordPress, SEO and email marketing
- How you currently use AI in your marketing work
- An example of where you have taken ownership of something and delivered results
