Assistant Store Manager – Bakery & Coffee
You can teach skills. You can't teach someone to care.
At Cut The Mustard, that's what we look for first.
We can teach coffee. We can teach our systems. We can help you develop as a leader.
What we can't teach is someone who genuinely cares about doing things well.
We're looking for people who notice the things others miss. The cleanliness of a coffee machine. A pastry that isn't quite right. A customer waiting to be served. A teammate who needs a hand. Great hospitality is built on those small moments.
Cut The Mustard is an independent artisan bakery and speciality coffee company with four shops across South London.
We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help lead one of our shops. This is a hands-on role where you'll spend your day making excellent coffee, serving customers, supporting your team and helping maintain the standards we're known for.
Experience matters, but how you approach your work matters more. If you care about quality, enjoy working hard and want to keep improving, we'll teach you the rest.
What you'll be doing
- Helping run the day-to-day operation of the shop.
- Making consistently excellent speciality coffee.
- Delivering warm, genuine customer service.
- Leading by example and supporting the front of house team.
- Helping train and develop new team members.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
- Supporting other CTM shops when needed.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience in hospitality.
- Experience making coffee (speciality coffee is a bonus).
- A genuine care for quality, consistency and customer service.
- A willingness to learn, improve and help others do the same.
If you'd like to be part of a business where quality matters and the little things are never overlooked, we'd love to hear from you.
