Overview
We're Fulcrum — a construction company built on doing the job properly. We're growing fast and we need a sharp, experienced estimator to take ownership of our pricing process and help us win the right work.
This is a lead position with real weight behind it. You'll be responsible for pricing incoming tenders end-to-end — from initial review and material take offs through to final submission. You'll work closely with our directors to ensure our bids are competitive, accurate, and commercially sound. You'll also play a key part in shaping how we approach estimating as the business scales — building processes, setting standards, and owning outcomes.
Duties
- Leading the full estimating process on all incoming tender enquiries
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine scope of work accurately.
- Maintaining details of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
- Review tender documents thoroughly to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in estimates.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to build reliable cost data
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth communication throughout the estimation process.
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Lead Estimator within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills, you can represent our numbers clearly to clients and internally.
- Leadership qualities with experience mentoring or supervising team members.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, or related fields are desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to lead estimation efforts within a reputable organisation committed to excellence and innovation in project delivery.
