Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases at the till, providing excellent phone etiquette when needed.
- Scan items accurately, process payments efficiently, and handle cash, card, or digital transactions with precision.
- Upsell products and promotions to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain organized checkout areas, manage queues effectively, and ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves near the till and ensuring product displays are attractive and well-organized.
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding stock levels, customer requests, or issues encountered at the register.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally in multiple languages (including English and Spanish), demonstrating strong organizational skills and time management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or cashier roles is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage checkout processes efficiently.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail during busy hours.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles and upselling techniques is advantageous.
- Demonstrated time management skills to prioritise tasks and serve customers promptly.
