Finance Manager
Location: Middleton, Manchester
Salary: upto £60,000 (DOE)
Cheltenham Green Civils is a growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor delivering projects throughout the North West for many of the UK's leading main contractors.
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and become an integral part of our team.
This is a varied role within a growing business, so no two days are the same. We're looking for someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved in everything from day-to-day management and financial administration through to management reporting and supporting the Directors.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Purchase and sales ledger
- Weekly and monthly payroll
- CIS, VAT and HMRC submissions
- Credit control and supplier payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Cashflow management and forecasting
- Management accounts and month-end reporting
- Supporting year-end accounts preparation
- General finance administration
- Maintaining financial records and improving processes
- Supporting the Directors with financial reporting and day-to-day business operations
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a similar finance role
- Ideally has experience within construction or civil engineering
- Has a good understanding of CIS, payroll and VAT
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Is confident using Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Is proactive, reliable and able to work on their own initiative
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment
- Understands that no job is too big or too small and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed
