Minibus Driver/Coach Driver - School Runs | Rail Replacement | Airport Transfers | Private Hire
Job Hours: Casual or Permanent Part-time (10-20 hours) Available, open to discuss
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced minibus driver to join our team, providing safe and professional transportation services across a varied range of operations including school runs, rail replacement, airport transfers, and private hire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys engaging with the public, and is looking for a flexible and rewarding driving role.
Hours are variable and to be discussed — we welcome candidates seeking part-time, or flexible arrangements. Work spans school term times and year-round contract operations, weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and punctually transport school pupils to and from school on assigned routes, Operate rail replacement services, ensuring passengers are transported efficiently during rail disruptions
Undertake airport transfer runs for individuals, groups, and contracted clients, carry out private hire work including events, corporate bookings, and individual client journeys Adhere to assigned routes and timetables across all service types
Carry out thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections prior to each journey Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, and any maintenance requirements
Comply fully with all applicable road transport legislation and regulations Uphold a valid driver’s licence, relevant permits, and a clean driving record throughout employment
Manage passenger behaviour on the vehicle calmly and effectively to ensure the safety of all
Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle defects promptly and in accordance with company procedures
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and adequately fuelled at all times
Requirements
Valid PCV Category D/D1 driver’s licence with a current CPC Qualification Card
Clean driving record with no major endorsements or convictions
Minimum of two years’ experience driving a minibus or similar passenger-carrying vehicle
Good working knowledge of local roads and common routes
Excellent driving skills and a proven commitment to passenger safety
Strong communication, organisational, and time management abilities Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
Minimum age of 25 years, in line with insurance requirements
Flexibility to work across different service types including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
Able to use Tachograph machine, if does not have a card happy to apply for one
