L3 Early Years Practitioner
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and imaginative practitioner who shares our ethos and passion for the early years and enjoys making learning exciting and memorable for all children.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team who can provide the best of care to children who attend our setting.
At Todwick Early Years, we offer a free-flow, child-led environment, with an emphasis on ‘In the Moment’ planning. Our setting is enriched with open-ended resources and natural objects. The role will require someone who is passionate about providing rich teachable moments; someone who is able to use our environment to invoke 'awe and wonder' for the children and learning opportunities that challenge and spark curiosity.
Key duties:
· Encouraging learning and development through play and teaching, indoors and outdoors
· Creating a secure environment, including safeguarding children and following all setting policies
· Working as part of a team and sharing day-to-day duties such as: seeing to children’s health-care needs, food preparation and cleaning duties
· Being responsible for a small group of key children, including keeping track and assessing development, completing learning journeys and maintaining children’s folders
· Working closely with children with SEN and the settings SENCO to complete Individual Education Plans and Support Plans
· Complete regular staff training and development courses, online and face-to-face

Qualifications and Skills
· Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare as a minimum (Essential)
· Experience working with children from 2-4 years (Preferred)
· Full understanding of the EYFS (Essential)
· Experience working with Special Educational Needs (Preferred)
· Two or more years of experience working within an early years setting (Preferred)
· First aid & Food Hygiene (Preferred)
All relevant training will be provided for the successful applicant.
Any offer of employment is contingent upon an Enhanced DBS check and two references (one of which must be your previous employer).
Hours:
Situated on school grounds, we are open for 39 weeks throughout the year and provide care between 8am-3:30m. You would be expected to be available to work between these hours.
Zero hours
Hours will be agreed upon on a termly basis if available, but you may be asked to work additional hours to cover staff illnesses and training.
The role will begin as soon as the interview and induction process has begun.
