Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an ambitious, strategic and values-driven Capital Senior Finance Business Partner. This senior leadership role is ideal for a finance professional with expertise in capital planning, leases and business partnering who can influence investment decisions, strengthen financial governance and deliver value for money across the Trust's capital programme.
Working closely with senior leaders and colleagues across Estates, Digital, operational services and finance, you will provide expert financial leadership, analysis and business partnering support to help deliver the Trust's strategic, operational and financial objectives.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Accounting, you will lead capital planning, forecasting, business case development, financial modelling, capital accounting, IFRS 16 lease accounting, capital reporting and maintenance of the Capital Asset Register.
As a trusted adviser and critical friend, you will provide financial insight, technical expertise and constructive challenge to support investment decisions and maximise value from capital resources. You will also ensure compliance with NHS guidance, IFRS, statutory requirements and Trust governance arrangements.
You will line manage the Capital Accountant and help develop a proactive, high-performing capital finance team.
As Capital Senior Finance Business Partner , you will:
Provide a comprehensive and proactive capital finance business partnering service to senior stakeholders across the Trust.
Lead the financial management, monitoring, forecasting and reporting of the Trust's capital programme.
Support development of annual and long-term capital plans aligned to Trust priorities and affordability.
Lead financial appraisal, modelling and affordability assessments for capital business cases and investment proposals.
Provide specialist advice on capital accounting, IFRS 16 leases, asset valuations, impairments and capital funding options.
Maintain the integrity of the Capital Asset Register and oversee capital accounting processes and controls.
Act as a trusted adviser and critical friend, providing constructive challenge to support value for money and informed decision-making.
Work collaboratively with Estates, Digital, operational and finance teams to support delivery of capital schemes within agreed budgets and governance requirements.
Ensure compliance with NHS guidance, IFRS, Standing Financial Instructions and Trust policies.
Line manage and develop the Capital Accountant and deputise for the Associate Director of Financial Accounting when required.
