Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. The Mechanic will play a vital part in supporting our organisation’s maintenance programme while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring safety standards are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Perform heavy lifting as required to move or install equipment components safely
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts utilised
- Assist with equipment assembly and installation projects as needed
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and organisational standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns professionally during maintenance visits
- Collaborate with team members to optimise operational workflows and minimise downtime
Experience
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role involving equipment repair and maintenance
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Experience in troubleshooting complex machinery issues effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Prior experience delivering high-quality customer service in a technical environment is desirable
