Earth Energy Education is looking for a self-employed, experienced school workshop leader to deliver workshops in schools and at solar and wind farms across Wales. The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher or experienced educator seeking part-time consultancy work and must be willing and able to travel throughout Wales.
Welsh language skills are essential for this role. Candidates must be able to deliver workshops confidently in both Welsh and English, supporting our commitment to bilingual education across Wales.
Required experience:
- Qualified teacher status (minimum 1 year experience)
- Fluency in Welsh and English, with the ability to deliver workshops in both languages
Essential criteria
- A strong background in education
- Demonstrable experience working with primary and secondary school students
- Familiarity with the Curriculum for Wales framework
- Ability to adapt educational workshops to all age groups
- Welsh language proficiency; able to plan, deliver, and respond to questions in Welsh
- Willingness and ability to travel across Wales
- Access to a vehicle and a valid UK driving licence
- Superb communication skills in both Welsh and English
- Punctual, reliable, and professional
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Competent IT skills with the ability to work online
Desirable (not essential)
- An interest in current environmental ideas, renewable energy, and sustainability
- Knowledge of and experience within the Higher Education sector
- Understanding of the secondary school STEM and Geography curricula in Wales
- Experience designing and presenting educational resources in Welsh and English
- Awareness of child protection, health and safety, and risk assessment procedures
- Experience delivering online teaching or virtual workshops
Licence/Certifications
- Driving licence (essential)
- Qualified teacher status (desirable)
- Welsh language qualification - desirable but confidence and fluency are the primary requirement
