Job Title: Social Media Account Manager
Company: Staunton Rook Marketing Ltd.
Location: Hybrid (Chester Office + Remote + Travel as Required)
Working Days: Monday & Friday (Remote), Tuesday to Thursday (Office-based)
About Us
Staunton Rook Marketing is a dynamic, fast-paced full service marketing agency based in Chester for over 25 years. We specialise in delivering bespoke marketing solutions for a diverse range of clients across the United Kingdom and the world for a variety of industries. From strategic planning to execution, we bring marketing to life - both online and on the ground.
Job Overview
Staunton Rook is looking for an experienced Social Media Account Manager to join our Chester-based marketing team.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone with strong social media, content creation and account management experience. You will manage a portfolio of clients, develop content plans, create engaging campaigns and coordinate delivery across our in-house creative team.
You will need to be comfortable managing accounts independently while remaining actively involved in the work. This is not purely a client services position. You will be expected to write content, generate ideas, manage social channels and analyse campaign performance.
Paid social media experience is important. Experience with Google Ads would be an advantage but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Client account management
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts as the main day-to-day contact
- Develop a clear understanding of each client’s business, audience and objectives
- Lead client meetings and provide regular updates
- Manage expectations, deadlines and agreed budgets
- Translate client requirements into clear briefs for designers, developers and other team members
- Coordinate projects across social media, design, digital and content
- Ensure work is accurate, on-brand and delivered on time
- Identify opportunities to improve campaigns and provide additional value
Social media and content creation
- Develop social media strategies and content plans for clients
- Create and manage monthly content calendars
- Write engaging copy for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms
- Generate ideas for graphics, photography, video and short-form content
- Brief designers, photographers and videographers
- Attend client locations to capture social media content where required
- Schedule, publish and manage content across client accounts
- Monitor comments, messages and audience engagement
- Maintain a consistent tone of voice across each client’s channels
- Stay informed about social media trends, platform changes and new content formats
Paid media
- Plan, create and manage paid campaigns through Meta Ads Manager
- Develop campaign audiences, messaging and creative briefs
- Monitor advertising budgets and campaign performance
- Test different creative, copy and audience approaches
- Review results and make practical recommendations
- Produce clear monthly reports for clients
- Support Google Ads campaigns where relevant experience allows
- Work with the wider team to improve landing pages and conversion journeys
About you
- You will have at least three years’ relevant experience within marketing, social media or an agency environment.
You should be creative, organised and confident communicating with clients. You will be able to manage several accounts without losing attention to detail and know the difference between content that simply fills a calendar and content that serves a purpose.
You will need:
- At least three years’ relevant marketing, social media or agency experience
- Experience managing client accounts or working directly with stakeholders
- Strong organic social media knowledge
- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
- Experience developing content plans and social media calendars
- A good understanding of visual and short-form video content
- Paid social campaign experience
- Confidence using Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- The ability to manage competing deadlines
- An understanding of social media analytics and reporting
- Confidence presenting ideas and results to clients
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of accounts
Desirable experience
- Google Ads
- Google Analytics 4
- LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- TikTok content and advertising
- Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
- Photography and video creation
- Email marketing
- Influencer or creator campaigns
- Search engine optimisation
- Previous experience within a full-service marketing agency
What success looks like
In this role, you will:
- Build trusted relationships with clients
- Manage accounts confidently and independently
- Improve the quality and consistency of client social media content
- Create campaigns linked to clear marketing and business objectives
- Deliver work on time and within budget
- Provide clients with useful insights rather than basic platform statistics
- Contribute fresh ideas to the wider agency
- Identify opportunities to grow and develop client accounts
What we offer
- A salary of £30,000–£35,000, depending on experience
- A varied portfolio of clients across different sectors
- Support from an established in-house creative and digital team
- Opportunities to develop your paid media and wider marketing skills
- A collaborative working environment in Chester – a hybrid homeworking-office setup whereby we work Mondays and Fridays from home and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our Chester based offices
- Free onsite office parking
- Company pension scheme
- One extra days holiday accruing for every year with the company
- Financial support towards CPD qualifications
- The chance to take ownership of client accounts and influence campaign direction
