Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances and systems in residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of gas safety regulations and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and be comfortable with heavy lifting and using power tools.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heating systems.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Troubleshoot issues with gas systems and provide effective solutions.
- Assemble components and perform welding as necessary for installations.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete tasks.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters, to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their gas systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to plumb and assemble various components.
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating requirements accurately.
- Experience in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- A valid commercial driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
