We are seeking an experienced Accounts Junior to join Berkeley Townsend, an independent accountancy practice, based in Shenfield, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Junior to join a successful Accountancy Practice which prides itself in supporting staff in their on-going development. We will provide you with the support and training to ensure you become a professional Accountant, which will lead to a long term and lucrative career.
You will need to have experience in the following areas:
- Preparation of Accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients: Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies
- Liaising with Partners and senior colleagues
- Working directly with clients and working within a team
- Preparing and filing corporation and income tax returns, VAT returns and bookkeeping
- Preparing financial reports and presentations using specialist accounting software
Skills and attributes
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ambitious to progress to a managerial level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of the latest versions of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- A methodical and organised approach to problem solving
- The ability to learn tax laws and advise on these.
- Attention to detail and an ability to use own initiative

The company is a three partner Chartered Accountancy practice that comes highly recommended by it’s own clients. With an ever-increasing client base, Berkeley Townsend is looking for a new accountant to join their team.
Salary & Benefits Salary band between £26,000pa to £29,000 pa dependent on experience and qualifications - study support available, generous holiday entitlement and contributory pension scheme.
