Premier Seeds Direct is a thriving, family-owned business specialising in vegetable and flower seeds for the hobby gardener.
We are well known among our customers and are continuing to grow. We are now looking for a practical, reliable person with a genuine interest in gardening to join our team in a new part-time role.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys growing seeds and plants and would like to use that experience in a working environment.
You will help us check how well our seeds germinate by sowing them and recording the results. You will also help us keep accurate records and make sure our growing and testing areas are tidy and well organised.
No formal horticultural qualifications or previous seed-testing experience are needed. However, you should have experience of growing seeds and plants, whether at home, on an allotment or in a professional setting.
The role is 8-10 hours per week, worked flexibly across Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Main Responsibilities
- Sow seeds for germination checks
- Monitor how well seeds grow and record the results
- Help identify any seeds that are not performing as expected
- Keep the growing and testing areas clean and organised
- Look after basic equipment and make sure supplies are available
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has practical experience of growing seeds and plants
- Enjoys gardening and working with plants
- Is careful, observant and well organised
- Is comfortable keeping simple written or computer records
- Can follow instructions and work independently
- Is reliable and able to work across Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Is happy to take on a varied and flexible role
Pay: £15.00 per hour
