Working Hours: 10:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday
Date: 3rd - 13th August 2026
Salary & Benefits: £20 per hour, based on 5 working hours per day (Monday–Thursday). Payment will be made at the end of the two-week contract.

Job Summary
The Lead Practitioner will oversee the day-to-day delivery of the Summer Holiday Activity Camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children and young people.
The successful candidate will lead and support staff and volunteers, coordinate daily activities, maintain high standards of safeguarding and health and safety, and ensure the programme is delivered to a high standard. They will play a key role in creating a positive experience where children can learn, develop new skills, build confidence, and enjoy their holiday.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily delivery of the summer holiday programme.
- Supervise and support activity staff and volunteers.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all children at all times.
- Plan, organise, and oversee engaging activities appropriate for different age groups.
- Monitor attendance and maintain accurate records where required.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety and safeguarding policies.
- Manage behaviour positively and promote an inclusive environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, staff, and external partners.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, or safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure equipment and resources are prepared, used safely, and stored correctly.
- Report daily to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on the camp's progress.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and able to motivate others.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in childcare, education, youth work, sports coaching, or a related field.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience delivering holiday camps or HAF programmes.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (if applicable).
