Role Overview: We are seeking a reliable and organized Dispatch Operative to join our team. This role involves coordinating deliveries, preparing loads for dispatch, and occasionally driving company vans to ensure our furniture reaches clients safely and on schedule. While an HGV license is not required, a full UK driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the dispatch of goods, ensuring all orders are correctly packaged and labeled.
- Prepare loads for delivery, including organizing and packing furniture items securely.
- Schedule and oversee deliveries to ensure they are completed on time.
- Occasionally drive company vans to deliver goods to clients, ensuring safe and efficient transport.
- Communicate with the production and sales teams to manage delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatched goods, including delivery notes and inventory updates.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during loading and delivery operations.
- Keep the dispatch area clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Full UK driving license (HGV not required).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Forklift license/experience is ideal but not necessary.
