Step Into Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming specialist SEN school in Milton Keynes to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant for the September 2026 academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or anyone looking to build a rewarding career supporting children with additional needs. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals in a supportive school environment.
Salary: £500-£520 per week
Contract: Full-time | Monday-Friday | Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to achieve their full potential.
You'll:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Work with children with Autism (ASC), SEMH, communication needs and learning difficulties.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
- Support teachers with classroom activities and behaviour strategies.
- Build positive relationships that enable children to thrive both academically and emotionally.
No two days are the same, making this a varied and highly rewarding role.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
You'll need:
- A 2:2 degree or above (or relevant experience supporting children).
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
