to join our team.
Role Overview
The role will involve carrying out all aspects of financial reporting, tax compliance and auditing (where applicable). Delivering high-quality assignments to the Client Service Manager or Director for review. The role also involves assisting the Client Service Manager and mentoring junior team members. This is a key role within the firm, offering exposure to a broad client base and clear opportunities for progression.
Key Responsibilities
Client Interaction
- Assisting the Client Service Manager to Manage a diverse portfolio of audit and accounts clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing a high level of service and technical support
- Identify opportunities for additional services
Accounts
- Preparation of accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies for Manager or Director Review under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) and, where applicable, IFRS
- Ensure accounts are completed efficiently, within budget, and to a high technical standard
- Resolve technical accounting issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate
- Ensure all Junior work is reviewed and signed off prior to Manager review
- Communicate directly with the client to clarify outstanding matters
- Ensure file is complete within the given timeframe ready for Manager or Director review
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, ethical requirements, and internal firm procedures
- Keep up to date with changes in accounting and regulatory standards
Audit
- Complete planning documentation to ensure that audits are carried out effectively
- Ensure audits and accounts are completed efficiently, within budget and timeframe, and to a high technical standard
- Resolve technical auditing issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate
- Carry out audit fieldwork with minimal supervision in accordance with the audit plan
- Perform the role of senior representative of the firm on site during audit fieldwork
- Utilise and plan junior staff workflow, monitoring and reviewing their work
- Complete audit file to the appropriate standard, suitable for Manager review.
- Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards, ethical requirements, and internal firm procedures
- Keep up to date with changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards
Tax
Corporation Tax
- Review data processed by juniors’ and clear any queries brought upwards.
- Prepare corporation tax computation for manager/director review.
- Consider tax planning opportunities.
- Submit CT600.
- Be aware of filing deadlines or other job specific deadlines.
Personal Tax
- Review data processed by juniors’ and clear any queries brought upwards.
- Deal directly with the client to obtain missing information or clarify matters.
- Prepare tax computation for manager/director review.
- Consider tax planning opportunities.
- Oversee the finalisation of the tax return pack and review.
- Send forms to client for approval
- Submit signed tax returns
- Be aware of filing deadlines or other job specific deadlines
P11ds
- Process complex client information
- Review P11ds prepared by juniors so that they are suitable for final manager review.
- Send forms to client for approval
- Submit signed forms to HMRC
- Be aware of filing deadlines or other job specific deadlines.
Other Tax
- Assist with other tax issues as the arise including (but not exclusively) ATED, CGT, IHT, HMRC tax enquiries.
Company Secretarial
· Assisting the manager as directed
Ad Hoc Tasks
- Assist director/manager with other ad hoc tasks and projects such as (but not exclusively) company secretarial work, management accounts, business development, training, promotional activity.
Team Involvement
- Lead, supervise, and mentor team members, including semi-seniors and trainees
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide a clear, constructive feedback
- Allocate appropriate work to team members, assist with on-the-job training of the team, and provide regular and timely feedback where required.
- Assist with workflow planning and resourcing across assignments
Pay: £44,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Experience:
