Rocks Property Restoration Ltd is a family-run flooring and joinery business specialising in the supply and installation of premium wood flooring; engineered timber and parquet across domestic, residential and commercial projects in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We take pride in high-quality craftsmanship and a clean, professional finish on every job.
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable labourer to support our flooring fitters on site. This is a great opportunity for someone keen to learn the trade and build a long-term career in wood flooring and joinery.
Working alongside our experienced fitters, you will keep jobs running smoothly moving and preparing materials, helping prepare subfloors, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Over time, and with the right attitude, there is real scope to learn hands-on fitting skills and progress within the business.
Duties
- Load, unload and move flooring materials, tools and equipment between the van and the work area.
- Help prepare subfloors; sweeping, cleaning, removing old flooring, and assisting with levelling and plywood overlay.
- Support fitters during installation by passing materials, holding and positioning boards, and helping with measuring and cutting as directed.
- Keep the site tidy, clean and safe throughout the day, clearing offcuts, dust and waste as you go.
- Assist with acclimatising and stacking timber on site ahead of installation.
- Follow all health and safety guidance and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Be respectful and professional in customers' homes and on commercial sites.
- Help load out and dispose of waste responsibly at the end of each job.
- Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling and lifting throughout the day.
- Willingness to learn and follow instruction from experienced fitters.
- A positive, can-do attitude and good timekeeping.
- Respectful and tidy when working in clients' homes.
