General Maintenance Labourer
Location: National Shooting Centre, Bisley, Surrey
Salary: Starting from £27,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time
The National Shooting Centre at Bisley is looking for a reliable and practical General Maintenance Labourer to join its Building Maintenance Department.
Set in the heart of the Surrey countryside, the Bisley estate includes a wide range of buildings, clubhouses and facilities that require ongoing repair, upkeep and improvement. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting our carpenters, plumbers and multi-skilled maintenance personnel across the site.
Main Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Assisting carpenters, plumbers and other multi-trade personnel.
- Preparing work areas and construction sites by removing obstacles and hazards.
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe.
- Collecting and disposing of waste and building materials.
- Loading, unloading and moving construction materials and equipment.
- Operating and caring for tools and construction equipment.
- Assisting with the erection and dismantling of temporary structures, including scaffolding, where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Removing, filling and compacting earth.
- Supporting general building maintenance and site improvement work.
- Carrying out other reasonable maintenance duties as required.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they can:
- meet the minimum age requirement for the role (18+) due to the duties and responsibilities involved.
- carry out physical requirements of the role, including manual tasks and lifting duties,with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
- work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
- be punctual,dependable and reliable.
- work effectivly as part of a team.
- follow instructions,comply with health and safety requirements, and work safely at all times.
Previous experience as a labourer within the construction, building maintenance or facilities sector would be advantageous, but is not essential. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate. A full UK driving License would be desirable.
