Position Purpose
Electrical Technician II. This position purpose is to help manufacture, prep, and fabricate medium to large control projects in a group setting or independently with minimal guidance from the group lead. This position will require the fabricator to be highly functional in a multiple of control disciplines and help support control fabrication to deliver a finished product to TAIT’s standard of quality

Identify maintenance requirements for equipment and tool update

Manufacturing of large cabinets, rack builds, led products and team support

Knowledge of machine wiring, stock manufacturing, and permanent install requirements

Knowledge of components and UL specifications
Position Requirements
-
Proficient in using and maintaining workshop and electrical tools, including soldering irons, drills, saws, presses, conduit punches, and hand tools, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

Experience reading, interpreting, and updating electrical and mechanical drawings to accurately reflect as-built conditions, with strong attention to detail and knowledge of industry standards.

In-depth understanding of quality control (QC) processes, including inspection, testing, and documentation.

Ability to identify quality control issues and design flaws through inspections, testing, and analysis of products or processes.

Ability to effectively communicate with the Designer, Group Leader, and Ops Manager to discuss and coordinate product improvements. Skill in presenting ideas, issues, and suggestions clearly and concisely to all stakeholders involved.

In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards applicable to the product or element. Ability to conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with the product or element and implement appropriate safety measures.

Understanding of standard fabrication, assembly, and test procedures relevant to the industry and the specific products being worked on. Familiarity with using and maintaining checklists to ensure that all steps in fabrication, assembly, and testing are completed accurately.

Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using various labelling equipment, such as label printers, applicators, and dispensers. Familiarity with labelling software or systems used to design and print labels.

Ability to work with different materials and methods as required for various fabrication tasks outside the primary department.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating confidence and competence in decision-making and problem-solving. Proactive in identifying and addressing issues and taking ownership of the fabrication process.

Ability to effectively use Slack for messaging, creating and managing channels, and participating in group discussions. Skill in managing emails, including composing, replying, organizing, and using features such as folders and rules.

Experience of control panel and control wiring

Must be comfortable working with all power tools and advanced hand tooling including pneumatic hole punches

Must be able to work with small pins and components

High school or trade school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience
