Location: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, on-site 5 days a week Monday to Friday
Hours: f/t – 37.5 hours – 8.30am to 5pm with 1 hour lunchbreak
Reports to: Finance Manager
Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organised General Administrator to join our accounts department within a busy hardware and door manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys working as part of a team, and would like to build a career in administration and accounts.
No previous accounts experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided. Following successful completion of probation, there may be an opportunity to progress into an Accounts Assistant role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide general administrative support to the accounts department.
· Assist with entering and maintaining accurate data on company systems.
· Process, scan, file, and organise invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and other accounts-related documents.
· Support the team with supplier and customer account queries.
· Help match paperwork such as purchase invoices, delivery notes, and order information.
· Assist with checking and updating records to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
· Respond to internal queries from colleagues across the business in a professional and helpful manner.
· Support communication with suppliers, customers, and internal departments when required.
· Carry out general office duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, email management, and document control.
· Work closely with the accounts team to learn basic accounts processes and procedures.
· Follow company policies and maintain confidentiality when handling financial and business information.
· Carry out any other reasonable administrative duties required to support the smooth running of the department.
Skills and Qualities Required
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Confident using computers, email, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work accurately and follow instructions.
· A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
· Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
· Reliable, punctual, and professional.
· Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
· An interest in developing knowledge of accounts and finance processes would be beneficial.
Experience and Training
· No previous accounts experience is required.
· Previous administration, office, customer service, manufacturing, or warehouse administration experience would be helpful but is not essential.
· Full training will be provided on the company’s accounts processes, internal systems, and day-to-day duties.
· Ongoing support will be given by the accounts team and management.
· There is an opportunity to develop within the department and progress to an Accounts Assistant role following successful completion of probation.
Working Environment
The successful candidate will be working within a practical, fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the accounts function for a business involved in hardware and door manufacturing. The role will involve regular communication with colleagues across accounts, sales, purchasing, production, and warehouse teams.
