Techxi is looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Transport Care Assistant (Passenger Assistant) to support three children with epilepsy during their daily journeys to and from school.
This is a highly rewarding part-time role where you'll play an important part in ensuring each child has a safe, calm and positive travel experience every day. Working alongside one of our professional drivers, you'll provide reassurance, supervision and specialist support throughout each journey.
This role would particularly suit someone with experience supporting children, working in a paediatric setting, or supporting individuals with epilepsy.
No driving is required.

Due to the specific needs of the children you will be supporting, the following requirements are essential:
- Previous experience supporting individuals with epilepsy
- Previous experience working with children
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (or willingness to obtain one, funded by us)
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, covering both morning and afternoon school runs
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working in a paediatric setting
- Experience supporting children or young people with epilepsy
- Knowledge of seizure management and safeguarding best practices
- A calm, patient and reassuring approach
Your allocated Techxi driver will collect you from your home address before each school run and return you home afterwards, so there's no requirement to travel to a depot or use your own vehicle for work.
What You'll Do
- Travel alongside three children with epilepsy during their journeys to and from school
- Provide supervision, reassurance and support throughout each journey
- Monitor passenger wellbeing and respond appropriately should a seizure occur
- Follow individual care plans and established safety procedures
- Assist children when boarding and leaving the vehicle safely
- Work closely with the driver to ensure every journey is safe, calm and comfortable
- Build positive relationships with children, families, schools and colleagues
- Help children arrive at school safely and return home with confidence
What a Typical Day Looks Like
Morning School Run
- Your Techxi driver collects you from home
- Travel with the children to school
- Provide support and supervision throughout the journey
- Assist with safe handover at school
- Your driver returns you home
Afternoon School Run
- Your Techxi driver collects you from home
- Travel with the children from school
- Support and supervise throughout the journey
- Assist with safe handover at home
- Your driver returns you home
Pay & Hours
- £200 - £250 per week
- Weekly pay every Wednesday (1 week in arrears)
- Monday to Friday
- Morning and afternoon school runs
- Term Time Only
- School holidays off by default
Your weekly pay is based on the length and complexity of your allocated route.
Please note: Passenger Assistants are paid for the time they are actively supervising passengers whilst they are onboard the vehicle.
Your allocated Techxi driver will collect you from home before each school run and return you home afterwards. The collection and return journey is provided for your convenience and is not classed as paid working time.

No DBS? No problem. We'll arrange and fund this for the successful candidate.
