Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.
We deliver multi-disciplinary services and consult, design, build, manage and maintain on behalf of the council and the communities and people it represents. We provide value for money, quality of output, and customer excellence to support regeneration and economic growth, for Nottinghamshire and beyond.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Design Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of design across a diverse portfolio of projects within our multi-disciplinary design and construction practice.
What you'll do
Working closely with the Heads of Architecture/Architectural Technology, Project Management, Commercial, and design teams, you will ensure design information is planned, coordinated and delivered on programme, to the required quality standards and in accordance with statutory, contractual and client requirements.
You will coordinate consultant and subcontractor information, maintain design trackers, facilitate technical reviews, support buildability discussions and ensure the timely flow of information across all project stakeholders. You will also oversee design programmes, monitor resources and workflows, and support the successful delivery of coordinated design solutions from concept through to construction.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will help maintain quality assurance processes, BIM and document control standards, and proactively manage design risks throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll bring
You will be confident working with drawings, specifications and design coordination activities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with project teams, consultants and contractors. A proactive approach, strong technical and software skills, together with a sound understanding of construction processes and the RIBA Plan of Work, are essential.
This opportunity would suit a highly organised and collaborative professional with strong leadership, communication and programme management skills, who is passionate about delivering high-quality, coordinated design solutions within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the successful delivery of high-profile public and private sector projects while helping to shape design management best practice within a growing, award-winning multidisciplinary practice.
