Job Description
Overview
- Providing caretaking duties such as setting up rooms for in-house and external events, including setting up audio visual equipment, and refreshments.
- Working as part of a team on a variety of events including council meetings, private functions, lectures and wedding ceremonies.
- Assisting the Bookings & Events Officer to ensure the smooth running of the Town Hall events
- You will be one of a team working on a rota basis to provide events cover throughout the day and evening.

- You are an enthusiastic and friendly person who will work with the other team members to provide an excellent service for our tenants, hirers and members of the public
- You are proactive, with good attention to detail and be committed to high standards
- You are able to handle and move furniture and equipment within H&S guidelines
- You are able to work unsupervised and on own initiative as well as part of a team
- You are a strong team player, with a flexible, hands-on approach
General Duties
- Set-up rooms for hire and clear away after
- Operate Audio/visual equipment
- Operate dishwasher and other kitchen equipment
- Clean and stock rooms and toilets as required before and during events to ensure standard of service
- Proactively ensuring the building remains clean and tidy, and maintenance issues are reported as appropriate
- Assisting hirers as required
- Provide refreshments for meeting and events
- Operate bar – including preparing drinks, operating payment system, adhering to licence conditions
- Be a key holder - open up and lock up before and after events
- Act as Fire Marshal in an emergency evacuation of the Town Hall
- Supervision of service contractors on site for town hall events
- To undertake all other reasonable duties when required to do so by the Bookings & Events Officer or Chief Officer to ensure the smooth running of the Town Hall
Other
- Hours will be variable, and shifts will vary in length dependent on bookings and/or events. Earliest start time is 7am and latest finish time is midnight.
- Training will be given
- Holiday is paid according to hours worked
Pay: £13.00 per hour
