Job Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join our Highways Maintenance team. You will support the upkeep, repair, and improvement of road networks, ensuring safety and efficiency for the public.
This is a hands-on outdoor role suited to individuals who enjoy physical work and working as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with highways maintenance works, including repairs and resurfacing
- Setting up and maintaining traffic management systems
- Clearing debris, vegetation, and obstructions from roadways and verges
- Operating basic tools and equipment (training provided where required)
- Supporting skilled operatives and supervisors on-site
- Following all health & safety procedures at all times
- Carrying out manual handling tasks as required
Requirements
- Previous labouring or construction experience preferred (but not essential)
- Valid CSCS card (Essential)
- Full UK driving licence (Essential)
- Valid Street Works Card (Desirable)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good work ethic and reliability
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends or night shifts when required
