Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and motivated On-Call Junior IT Field Support Assistant to join our dynamic team in London and surrounding areas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot hardware issues, and assist with maintenance tasks across various client sites. As an integral part of our field support team, you will be the first point of contact for resolving technical challenges efficiently and professionally, ensuring smooth operation of IT equipment and infrastructure. Duties
- Respond promptly to on-call requests for IT support across multiple locations within London and nearby areas.
- Diagnose and repair computer hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Use hand tools and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of IT equipment.
- Assist with routine maintenance, upgrades, and equipment repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Support computer networking tasks such as connecting devices, configuring network settings, and troubleshooting connectivity problems.
- Follow detailed procedures for equipment repair and maintenance, documenting all actions taken.
- Collaborate with team members to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution of technical problems.
Experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to electronic and computer hardware components.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment repair or maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with computer hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair processes.
- Understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, or technical manuals related to IT equipment.
- Knowledge of computer networking principles including device configuration and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in equipment repair or maintenance roles is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
