The McKinstry Group is one of the leading providers of services to the waste management industry. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join our finance team as a key individual contributor role.
The role is based in our head office in the Nutts Corner, Crumlin area. This is a permanent role with a minimum of 2 days per week
Responsibilities:
- Processing of monthly and weekly payrolls, to include new start/leaver procedures, SSP, SMP, SPP and pension auto enrolment
- Manage any payroll and time and attendance queries within strict weekly and monthly deadlines
- Processing payroll as per the required time frames with a high degree of accuracy
- Creation and processing of weekly and monthly BACS files, ensuring these are authorised within agreed timescales
- Submit payroll files, pension deductions and statutory returns on a timely basis
- Ensuring year end reports, including P11Ds are completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
- Keep up to date with HMRC guidance to ensure compliance to all legislative requirements
- Dealing with payroll queries as key point of contact, responding professionally and in a timely manner
- Ensure that payroll records are kept up to date
- To action monthly payroll account reconciliations as requested by the line manager
- Provision of payroll information and analysis for accounting and management purposes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems
- Work with HR regarding employee related payroll queries
- Complete PAYE, National insurance and pension related processes
- Any other duties as and when necessary
Skills and experience:
Essential Experience:
- At least two years’ experience in a computerised payroll environment preparing both monthly and weekly payroll
- Extensive knowledge of UK statutory regulations and returns
- Possess excellent IT skills with experience of payroll management systems (specific experience of Sage 50 would be advantageous)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word
- Attention to detail, numeracy and problem-solving demonstrable experience
- Strong time management skills, and flexibility, to meet payroll deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with different department managers.

Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience using Workflow Infinity (by North Time and Data).
