Plater/Fabricator – Great Bridgeford
Howard Finley are working with a well-established engineering company based in Great Bridgeford, Staffordshire, who are looking to add an experienced Plater/Fabricator to their team.
This is a permanent position for someone with a solid background in steel fabrication who is looking for a long-term role.
The Role
You’ll be working in the workshop fabricating and fitting steelwork, working from engineering drawings and producing a range of heavy steel fabrications.
The role will include:
- Fabricating and fitting steel components
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Marking out, measuring and cutting steel
- Tack welding and general fabrication
- Grinding and finishing
- Using hand tools and workshop equipment
- Checking your own work to make sure it’s accurate and to a good standard
- Working safely and keeping the workshop tidy
About You
We’re looking for someone with previous experience as a Plater/Fabricator, ideally from a heavy engineering or structural steel background.
You’ll need to be comfortable:
- Reading engineering drawings
- Fabricating and fitting steelwork
- Working with heavy/mild steel
- Using fabrication tools and equipment
- Tack welding and carrying out general welding work
- Working accurately and to deadlines
A relevant qualification or apprenticeship would be an advantage, but good hands-on experience is what matters most.

Pay: £17.00 – £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime: Available
