The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to lead a busy and fast-paced commercial vehicle workshop based in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician ready to step up or an established supervisor looking for a new challenge.
You will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring high standards of maintenance, safety, and efficiency across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of HGV Technicians
- Allocate work effectively to meet deadlines and operational demands
- Ensure all maintenance, servicing, and repairs are completed to DVSA standards
- Oversee diagnostics and complex fault finding
- Maintain high levels of health & safety compliance
- Monitor workshop productivity and performance
- Liaise with management regarding fleet status and downtime
- Support training and development of apprentices and junior staff
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations and compliance
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Class 1 HGV Licence (desirable but not essential)
