Overview
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Laundry and Dry Cleaning Shop Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers, managing laundry operations, and ensuring a clean and organized shop environment.
Duties
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment effectively and safely.
- Greet customers and assist with their laundry and dry cleaning needs.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment according to safety and quality standards.
- Sort and process garments, ensuring proper handling and care for different fabrics.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide solutions in a professional manner.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and garments according to established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is kept in good working order.
- Handle customer laundry requests with care, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and report any shortages to management in a timely manner.
- Assist with the training of new staff members as required.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications
- Previous laundry or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to follow instructions accurately with commitment to quality..
- Excellent time management skills, capable of prioritising tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy setting.
- Good physical stamina; must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management.
- Flexible availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
