About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Employability and Health Lead to deliver our employability and wellbeing programmes through The Hive.
Using the café as a practical learning environment, you will support people to build confidence, develop workplace skills and progress into volunteering, training, education or employment. You will also help embed wellbeing and mental health support into participants' journeys, working closely with local partners to provide holistic support.
Contract: Initial 12-month contract, subject to further funding.
Hours: 20 hours per week (with potential for additional hours subject to funding)
Location: The Hive and other WCC settings
Reports to: General Manager
Responsible for: Employability Coaches, café volunteers, trainees and sessional staff (where appropriate)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Employability Café and café-based work experience programme.
- Support young people and adults with CV writing, job applications, interview skills and confidence building.
- Coordinate the Mental Health Café and develop links with health and wellbeing services.
- Develop partnerships with employers, schools, training providers, the DWP Youth Hub and other employability organisations.
- Ensure participants receive meaningful learning opportunities and clear progression into volunteering, training, qualifications or employment.
- Supervise Employability Coaches, volunteers and trainees where appropriate.
- Monitor outcomes, maintain accurate records and provide evidence of impact for funders.
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, equality and confidentiality policies.

Essential
- Experience supporting people into employment, education, training or volunteering.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience delivering one-to-one and group support.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partners.
- Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and supporting people to achieve their potential.
Desirable
- Knowledge of employability programmes and local support services.
- Experience in the voluntary or community sector.
- Understanding of mental health and wellbeing.
- A relevant qualification in employability, youth work, careers guidance or community development.
